All about us (Humans)

Being my first post, I want it to be something special and serious. So this post is gonna be "Let me tell the world what I think of it" type. Relax, its not that serious either. I just wanted to share few questions (on our existence and identity) that have been in my mind ever since I grew up.
All my childhood I have been taught that we, human beings are the cleverest and most superior of all living beings. But are we really what we project to be? It is said that our ability to talk and communicate with each other makes us special than all other creatures. Are we not being prejudiced here? Don't the birds chirp? Doesn't the lion roar? Don't the dogs bark? etc etc on similar grounds for all other animals. Is it fair to call them muted animals or dumb creatures just because we don't understand them? Claiming ourselves to be the creatures of highest order, are we not conceited fools? Not just this there are many more questions which arise on terms of human stupidity and hypocrisy.
BEAST is the name we have given to the animals that are cruel and brutal. And we, humans for we display HUMANE qualities. Yes, its HUMANE when we shun out all the animals off their natural habitats. The so called "not too intelligent" creatures when resort to cruelty, they are called dangerous. But when we, the "Morally sound" and "Highly intelligent" beings brutally kill the animals just for sport or merely to satisfy our hunger, are still called humans not beasts? Well, let it be a moot point.
And I could go on like this for pages and pages. But let me stop here. I don't intend to hurt or offend anyone. I do agree that we can't always be kind to all and be a perfect human displaying just the HUMANE qualities. We have the mixed qualities of a beast and a human. Then why not be proud of ourselves and accept the fact that we are indeed beastly animals with few changes and improvements. If not all this, can't we atleast stop incorporating this superiority complex of our race into the brains of the innocent kids and the younger generations?
Don't you think its our identity thats at stake? The too good (projected) image of ours is making our actual selves look vile.
